Just this past Saturday at Jarrett-Gordon Ford in Winter Haven, the Winter Haven Rotary and a few hundred of their closest friends spent a few hours packaging meals for the hungry. How many? How does 52,000 plus grab you. This project, funded by the Winter Haven Rotary through its fundraisers and other donations, will be helping local soup kitchens, elementary schools and service organizations, including the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven, Street Angels, Deep Roots Fellowship, the Mission, the Salvation Army, Denison Middle School, Wahneta Elementary School and Snively Elementary School. Around 75 members of the Rotary Club were on hand to guide the efforts of over 150 Community volunteers, including Rotary Sponsored service clubs such as Interact (Winter Haven and Lake Region High Schools) and YouthAct (Denison Middle School.
